The house sits in a small farming village just 4km from the Vanoise express cable car and the ski lifts of Peisey Vallandry, and sits right on the entrance to the Vanoise National Park. The village is occupied all year with local French families (plus three or four English families). In winter you can ski to the door and there is a vast 44km nordic skiing next door to the village (1km up valley). There is a free bus during the winter and summer seasons which take you to the ski lifts and other villages.

There is a bus that goes through the village every 30mins in the winter which takes you to the ski lifts. Its about a 2min walk to the bus stop in ski kit. When there is snow in the village (December-early March) it is possible to ski from Peisey Vallandry or Les Arcs 2000 right to the door.
